Energy labelling

Every letter costs — or pays off.

The energy grade affects tenants, buyers and the bank's terms. Tap a grade to see what it says about your building.

Energy grade A

Highly energy efficient. Typical of new buildings with high standards and good technical solutions.

Simplified explanation. The limits depend on building category and calculated delivered energy per m².

On sale and lease

Commercial buildings must have an energy certificate when sold or leased.

Over 1,000 m²

Commercial buildings over 1,000 m² must always have a valid certificate, displayed to users.

Valid for 10 years

A certificate is valid for ten years — or until the building changes significantly.

Done by experts

For commercial buildings, the labelling must be carried out by a qualified professional.

Two grades

Energy grade and heating grade

The energy label has two parts. The energy grade, from A to G, shows how energy efficient the building is, based on calculated delivered energy. The heating grade is shown as a colour and indicates how much of the heating comes from fossil fuels and electricity.

Together they give tenants, buyers and banks a quick picture of the building. We explain what the grades mean for your building — and which measures have the greatest effect.
